The inaugural meeting of the United Kingdom Cast Stone Association (UKCSA) was held on 20th February 1991, and on 28th March 2023 UKCSA held the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The UKCSA 2023 AGM was held at at Holiday Inn, Crick, Northampton NN6 7XR, commencing at 10.00 am for UKCSA Members and their employees, and commencing at 11.00 am for non-UKCSA Members from the cast stone industry. The venue is ideally placed, just off Junction 18 of the M1, and close to the M6, A14 & A6 road network, with overnight accommodation available on site.
The Agenda commenced at 10.00 am for UKCSA Members with essential AGM business, including the election of committee members for the 2023/24 membership year.
Non-UKCSA Members from the cast stone industry joined the AGM at 11.00 am, when an overview of the Association’s work to date, plans for the future, and short presentations from UKCSA Associate Members. The Mineral Products Association (MPA) also gave an overview presentation on their work and benefits to UKCSA Members.
This was all followed by a presentation by UKCSA Associate Member Leviat covering the specifics of restraining and supporting stone cladding, and the products available from Leviat that can be used to fulfil these requirements.
The final item of the day was an overview of the entries in UKCSA 32nd Anniversary, “Excellence in the Use of Cast Stone” 2023 Awards competition, for projects that have used the cast stone manufacturing Full Members’ own cast stone, and presentation of the Winners and Highly Commended awards in each category.
Attendance at the UKCSA 2023 AGM was free to all, and UKCSA ended up with probably the best attended AGM ever, certainly the highest attendance in recent years, and we are all looking forward to the UKCSA 2024 AGM, provisionally scheduled for 26th March 2024.
