The United Kingdom Cast Stone Association (UKCSA) would like to make our members and readers aware that there is an update to NHBC Standards that will affect cills, string courses and copings located in render.
To ensure buildings are covered by an NHBC Warranty, compliance with the new standards issued on 1st January 2025 is required.
The update specifies a minimum clearance of 40mm from the face of the render to the back of the drip/throating on cills, string/band courses, and copings. For more detailed information please visit the NHBC standards website.
