Marshes Shopping Centre
UKCSA Full Member Haddonstone was responsible for the stonework facades of the new 410,000 sq ft Marshes Shopping Centre at Dundalk, County Lough.
Efforts were concentrated on the entrance of the building, which was flanked by two imposing columns with Corinthian capitals. A temple was also used as a cupola above the pediment.
Quoins were used on all the corners of the building and the company also provided custom-made window surrounds. Half columns and balls and bases were also used.
Haddonstone was only allocated 11 months in which to complete their part of the project – and managed to complete on schedule despite the scale of the task.
