Luxury New Build Private Residence
UKCSA Full Member Haddonstone Limited were commissioned by the contractor to produce a large volume of almost 100% completely bespoke cast stonework for this South Buckinghamshire property.
A bespoke colour was developed especially for the project, so that the stonework would beautifully complement and contrast with the property’s yellow brickwork.
All of the stonework elements were produced using Haddonstone’s wet-cast limestone material. This material was chosen for its smooth, contemporary surface texture, and it also enabled the Haddonstone team to incorporate structural reinforcement and cast-in fixings.
The individual bespoke components included all façade stonework, comprising window dressings (heads, sills and a bulls-eye window surround) and door surrounds.
A smart porch and entranceway was created from a bespoke door surround, cladding and ashlar walling, floor to roofline fluted pilasters and cornice.
Bespoke wall dressings were produced, including plinth, band and string course, as well as an elegant upper cornice with simple decorative moulding to encircle and crown the roofline.
An impressive reinforced curved loggia was produced to seamlessly integrate into the rear of the property. It featured an upper balcony, Tuscan columns and pilasters.
Complementary custom-designed components were produced to complete a three-car detached garage, gate piers, gateway and landscaping elements.
As an almost entirely bespoke commission, this project presented many tricky structural and design issues, especially the arched curved heads and the loggia. However, Haddonstone’s highly experienced and skilled team successfully met all of these challenges.
