Beautiful development with Georgian flair
This beautiful development comprises smart traditional terraces and substantial detached properties all with Georgian flair was supplied with cast stone by UKCSA Full Member Woodside Cast Stone.
It is within a very secluded area on one of Winchester’s landmark avenues and is comprised of fourteen fine houses varying from three & four bedroom homes.
The design brief was to work closely with the technical team and architects to create a development where the stone complements both the surrounding area and architecture. As always with this particular developer it is the small detail which counts.
With the development being on a long and narrow plot, care had to be taken when detailing the stone. The on-site crane wasn’t able to reach all four corners and with decorative cast stone on these plots the weights had to be carefully monitored with H&S standards during the programme.
The stone window heads were all designed by Woodside Cast Stone to be structural allowing check reveals to be created in true Georgian style.
The Portico to Plot 9 was also manufactured as structural eliminating the need for an in-situ ring beam and allowing for a much faster installation than traditional methods. Fixings were individually detailed by Woodside and supplied with each stone unit.
