Pennine Stone (part of UKCSA Member the Haddonstone Group) supplied the cast stone to this prestige development by Charles Church South East Ltd (part of the Persimmon Group), consisting of 65 flats, 5 town houses and a community business centre. Pennine Stone's standard strings, window heads and cills were used alongside a number of bespoke designs.
Persimmon Group chief executive Mike Farley said: “Pennine Stone is a key supply partner to the Persimmon Group and naturally we looked to them to work with us on such an involved project. We are delighted with the finished scheme which we feel showcases both companies' capabilities.”
The most challenging aspect of this project was its size, with £300,000 of cast stone used on the development. Pennine Stone's technical account managers worked with site agent Brian Maddox and Charles Church technical staff for almost three years, and visited the project every two weeks throughout the major superstructure build programme.
Pennine Stone created a number of complex bespoke designs - Dutch gables, balustrading and entrance porticos – for the project.
