Cast stone for substantial riverside scheme
An award-winning mixed use development by Linden Homes extensively features cast stone architectural details from UKCSA member Edenhall.
Kingston Mills is a substantial riverside development of 170 homes, a community use building, new offices and retail premises in the historic Wiltshire town of Bradford on Avon. The developer has skilfully regenerated a derelict former rubber works on a 2.5ha brownfield site. Heritage features were conserved and the scheme blends in well with the historic core of the town.
Edenhall supplied a range of bespoke semi-dry cast stone dressings including porticos, window heads and cills, string courses, arch details, columns, gables and copings. The mellow Bathstone Buff stonework was used in combination with natural and reconstituted stone masonry walls to provide a unified aesthetic. As well as being used for shops and offices, 2-bedroom waterview apartments, 3-bedroom semi detached and 4-bedroom townhouses, the cast stone provides column and arch details for the car parks and copings for the extensive river wall.
