Truly magnificent development of Titlarks House, Sunningdale
UKCSA Full Member Woodside Cast Stone supplied wet-cast cast stone for the recently completed development of Titlarks House for a private client in Sunningdale.
Woodside’s supply consisted of wet-cast, etched stone door and window surrounds throughout, balustrading terracing at first floor level to the 2-side wings and front & rear elevations of the development presenting identical large frontage structural portico assemblies beneath a stone pediment assembly.
The design of the large format roof level eaves cornice units were particularly challenging because the client wanted to install this to the steel frame, with the brickwork being installed later from below. This allowed for the building to be made waterproof a lot sooner than would be normally achieved from a
conventional build. Some of these units were nearly 4m long and weighed in excess of 2.5t, but this achieved the brief given to us by the client of minimising the number of joints.
External to the main house, there is a set of 6no. stone gate piers at the entrance with an everyday Garage to the LH side of the front elevation which has a drive through arch leading to a ramp that takes you down to an underground car park that has space to house the client’s private car collection in air
To the RH side is a Lodge, but the real show-stopping moment on this development is when you go around to the rear elevation and see the full extent of the terrace balustrading with its central feature of a bespoke twist & ramp staircase.
Woodside’s supply of cast stone to this truly magnificent development was enhanced by working closely with UKCSA Associate Member, PCS Stone Specialists , who were also involved in the design, detailing and installation of the cast stone, and UKCSA Associate Member, GA Fixings, who manufactured and supplied the stainless steel fixings.
