Congratulations to NHBC Pride in the Job Winners (February 2010)

Congratulations to two winners in the UK’s only award for site managers.  The NHBC Pride in the Job competition was established to improve build quality and raise the standard of service to home buyers.

At a ceremony in London last month,  David Bullock of Persimmon Homes East Wales scooped the large development category for his site at Wyncliffe Gardens, Pentwyn, Cardiff.

And the North West regional award winner in the small builder category was Bill Wilson from Arley Homes for his site at Churchfields, Bolton.

Both developments made extensive use of cast stone architectural details supplied by Pennine Stone, a subsidiary of UKCSA member Haddonstone.

Cast stone details, such as porticos, string courses, quoins, window heads and cills, are a tried and tested solution for adding design quality and kerb appeal, which is why housebuilders are putting their faith in the material.

A recent Ipsos Mori poll revealed a strong public preference for cast stone and that 79% of people would pay an average 4.9% extra for a new property with cast stone details compared to one without.
